Looking In The Mirror...

So for a while now I've been letting my perm grow out, to go natural. Well...I have hit a bumpy road (sighs) lately I've been wanting to get a perm, yes i said it! THE CREAMY CRACK! I washed last night and stood in the mirror for I know at least 30 min just staring at my hair. Then it all began....I asked myself...DO YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING?! And i realized that there was about to b some serious debate with self...ahhh...patience...a quality that I have so well...seem to have run out on me :( So whats a girl to do, I then started detangling my hair and realized how much curly new growth I had...it felt to good and light that I couldn't keep my hands out of my hair! It's moments like that where I could give a care in the world about a relaxer.....sigh sigh sigh....until then my ♥s.....

I def know how you feel. I have been going more than 4 years strong and I almosr slipped up before the holidays. I had it BAD. I went to the store and stood in front of the boxes of relaxers like it was some chocolate candy. But I prevailed.

don't do it! lol...keep with it, ive been transtioning for almost a year now and i've had many a money like that =) A couple blogs I used for inspiration are: Mane and Chic, Urban Curlz, and Naturally Vogueish...and there are tons others! They have definitely given me a new found inspiration for natural hair.

Aww mama...whatever you're doing it looks great and I'm sure holding out on the relaxers & perms for a little while will just help with the overall health of your hair. Although I don't totally relate my sis has just decided to go all natural & her hair couldn't be healthier (she's Black since I'm the adopted one). I can say I gave up on the bleach and color and my hair is finally getting a bit of shine back and the breakage is starting to subside a little. Hang in there hun!

i'm not gonna tell you not to perm bcs i think the thoughts ur havin are normal. i went natural twice. the first time i did the big chop (NEVER AGAIN - lol) and after a year i permed again bcs i put heat in my hair & it didn't revert. my hair was so damaged though & i decided to go natural again. this time around its been almost 2 yrs, and i transitioned w/braids & wigs. i messed up w/the heat again, but i'm just working with it bcs i know right now a perm and all that maintenance isn't for me. good luck w/your transition gurl. the wet sets look nice on you!

Don't do it...just say no. I feel your pain. I'm doing the same, unfortunately my hair was already short. It does feel liberating to feel the wavy texture, but its hard have both. So my stylist recommended for me to hide my hair until I got to a comfortable length...hence the style now.

So I commend you and keep at it.

Girl I know exactly how you feel. I've been without a perm for a little over a year now. At one point I was so set on getting a perm but I didn't and I'm really glad I didn't. Now my hair feels so healthy--I'm still learning how to deal with it but definitely worth all the drama I went through with it =] Good Luck!

It's like a breath of fresh air knowing that so many women want to go natural, just as yourself. You're doing well and I love your blog.

Take care darling, I know you can do it successfully :)
